This exquisite theater, which appeared on the cover of AudioVideo Interiors magazine, occupies an underground area in a northern New Jersey home. The space previously contained a racquetball court, and the conversion was particularly challenging because rooms this large can echo even after extensive acoustic treatment. Fortunately, Lyric’s project manager, co-owner Dan Mondoro, knew just how to choose loudspeakers that would produce maximum fullness and warmth. Positioning the system’s front-channel and subwoofer amplifiers near those particular speakers resulted in short cable runs that further enhanced sound quality. So did isolating cables to equipment in the rear. Rather than run them through the walls, Mondoro specified a dedicated cable conduit beneath the floor.
